I have now finished, and integrated, my solution for the grass exclusion problem.

It doesn’t work quite as well as the original system, (For example, it does not support smoothing or flattening grass, just excluding it completely), but it does work very well, at all orientations.

Since most earthlike and alien worlds are grass covered, being able to exclude grass is a vital ability, otherwise it gets very difficult to find objects that are dropped or placed on the ground, etc.
