P0-A1: Part 365: Concept Phase Complete

The concept phase for my current project is over, and I have officially started on the Alpha phase.

I am still a long way from even an Alpha release, but I am making good progress.

The Alpha phase coincides with the release of Unity 2018.1, which I have already ported over to. The port went very well, and the only issues are some bugs in the shaders for the MCS character models. I am confident that a fix for these shaders will be available soon, and if not, there are other shaders that I can use instead if I need to.

Unity 2018.1 features the C# job system, as well as previews of other, advanced, multithreading tools that I hope to leverage in the Alpha phase to optimise the project.

I have also installed a Samsung 960 Pro NVMe M.2 disk, and I am using it just for my Unity projects. This is resulting in a huge speed increase over my current HDD.

The first Alpha Milestone that I am aiming for will mainly involve optimising and stabilising the existing codebase, with some new features and improvements as well.
