P-102: Remote Drone: Project Update 2

by on Sep.10, 2015, under Art and Designs, Inventions

I have completed the assembly of the first of the rear wheels and mountings.

I bought a 12mm pillow block to insert the axle into, however, I had to file quite a bit off the axle to allow the 12mm axle to actually fit into the 12mm pillow block.

I then cut the excess off the axle, leaving enough for the wheel to fit into.

I now need to drill a hole through the wheel hub and use an M4 bolt to secure the wheel to the axle.

I can then two holes in the frame of the robot and use more M4 bolts to mount the wheels to the frame.

These are the rear wheels, so they are free rotating. The motors will be connected to the front wheels.
