P-156: Update 16: Final Checks/Releasing OpenGL project

This project is almost ready to release. I have optimised the executable as much as I can, and the total compressed filesize is now about 600 kbs! One of the goals of this project was to experiment with the idea of the “demoscene”, to create a very small, compact, but self-contained game. I think I have definitely succeeded in doing this.

The uncompressed file size is 1.44 MB’s, and that is mainly the freetype dll file. This dll file is 510 KB in size, which makes it the largest single file in the project! The other opengl dll’s are also quite large, but there is little that can be done about that.

Compressing my .JPG files and reducing the complexity of my art assets helped a lot to reduce file size as well.
