Spiritus Astrum [P0-B9]: p1459: Early Access
I have finished the basics of the new story mission.
The basic triggers and events now work, the next step is to add more gameplay and story elements.
These gameplay elements will require quite a lot of thought. So far, the game relies on mostly survival and crafting elements for it’s core gameplay loop, but I want to extend this to add more things for the player to do, and more ways to interact with the world.
I could improve the combat system, add more random enemies, etc.
I have also conducted more tests on the story, and so far, it seems ok, except for a few minor issues.
Spiritus Astrum [P0-B9]: p1458: Early Access
I have been testing and improving the next story mission/quest for the game.
The main elements of the story work, it’s just a matter of adding the supporting gameplay logic.
This is going quite well, the project is designed to be easily extensible for exactly this reason.
Once I get the quest functional, I can work on adding the story elements, etc.
Spiritus Astrum [P0-B9]: p1457: Spiritus Astrum Early Access
I have been testing the second main story in the game. This was finished in concept, but is not fully done.
The next goal is to finalise this story. It should, hopefully, be about 2-3 hours of content.
The game is currently arranged into multiple stories, with a different one being chosen based on the players choices in the startup screen.
Eventually, I want to have more procedural stories, etc, etc.
The testing has gone well, and the next step is to start working on implementing the story itself.
Spiritus Astrum [P0-B9]: p1456: Spiritus Astrum Early Access
I have decided on the basic plan for the Early Access release of Spiritus Astrum.
The goal is to have about 10 hours of main story content, plus more procedural content, as well as to improve the art, fix bugs, etc, before I go into early access.
It shouldn’t take an excessive amount of time to do this. There is already about 4-5 hours of main story content in the game.
Spiritus Astrum [P0-B9]: p1455: Spiritus Astrum Demo
The demo is going quite well. There were a few bugs found, however these were fixed. I am now reasonably confident the the demo is stable and I am not expecting any other major issues.
I have also added clickable links to the demo startup screen, to make navigation to web URLs easier.
The next step is preparing for the early access release.
Spiritus Astrum [P0-B8]: p1454: Spiritus Astrum Demo
The steam Space Exploration fest (Which Spiritus Astrum is entered in) will go live on the 2nd of September, and run until the 9th.
I am hoping that the demo will do ok during this period, and that there are no more bugs or issues that I haven’t discovered!
Once the next fest is over, I will then focus on the early access release of the project.
Spiritus Astrum [P0-B8]: p1453: Spiritus Astrum Demo
I have identified some minor issues with the demo, which I have fixed with an updated build.
One of these bugs could have been preventing players from starting a game, but this should be resolved now.
I intend to add more help menus, tutorials, etc, at a later stage, the learning curve is quite steep.
