P-168: Phoenix Character Print: Texturing
I have made quite a bit of progress with texturing my model.
The time I spent unwrapping it seems to have paid off, since the texture was reasonably easy to apply.
I still have to do the face, the back, the base and improve the general resolution and quality of the texture, but it is slowly getting there. I don’t want to make the resolution too high, since this is intended for 3D printing, and I don’t know how high resolution textures will look when printed.
I am exporting the model as an .OBJ file for now, because very high poly .DAE files take too long to export, and can cause crashes.
iMaterialise’s online model checker seems to report some issues with the mesh, namely thin walls in the fingers and the hair, as well as some other issues. I may need to make changes to the model to resolve these issues. I don’t have a huge amount of experience with 3D printing, and this is a complex model, so there may be some problems getting it to print correctly.
