P-148: Heist: Update 8 Level Design
This week my main goal was to finalise the level design for Heist. I haven’t finished creating all of the art assets yet, but I have a detailed schematic of the level map.
I have tried to include as many diverse elements as possible, from guards, to cameras, and motion sensors to laser fences. I think that, for a concept demo at least, there will be sufficient gameplay.
The mission area is relatively small, there are multiple ways to complete the level, and one slip up will result in game over, forcing the player to restart. I think this will provide enough replay value to a casual player.
I have not implemented an online scoreboard, or a selectable inventory system yet, the player will simple get a “Mission Successful” Message if they escape with the loot, and will start with all inventory items.
I hope to have a playable demo of this project done by the end of the month.
