P0-P-172: Part 89: Server Architecture, Data Paging
I have had to reconsider my entire server architecture in light of the recent problems that I have been having.
Up to now, I have been working with (successful) concepts tests, but now I need to actually use the database for the next step of the project.
I have found that the current system cannot reliably handle the quantity of data that is being sent, even if I don’t use raw serialisation.
I have been looking into a few different architectures in an attempt to speed things up, and I think that I may actually add all of the database code to the unity game server, cutting out my c# server entirely.
Obviously, I would not add any mysql code to the client, however, the (unity) clients would connect to a unity gameserver, which would in turn connect directly to the mysql database.
Adding mysql support to unity directly is proving to be extremely difficult though, I need to find a mysql dll which is compatible with the .NETÂ framework that unity uses.
