OracleVM and CAELinux: Setup and Testing with OpenFOAM: Part 2
I have succeded in configuring OpenFOAM to load my own custom models. This was relatively complex, but I can now load models at will into OpenFoam for analysis.
I still need to spend some more time researching the various dictionaries and configurations files that OpenFOAM uses for it’s analysis, as well as the various options that ParaView offers for visualising results, but I am making fast progress in this area.
I intend to research my concept idea of a supersonic Ekranoplan further, using OpenFOAM to analysis the effects of wing and body shape on the performance of a vehicle travelling at supersonic speed. The next step is to research wing designs and use equations to produce a viable design for this project, given the projected speed (Around MACH 1.5-2 which is 1 ,141-1 ,522 MPH). I will likely be using some kind of delta or slender delta wing, with an aerodynamic fuselage shape as close to the Sears-Haack body or Von Karman Cone as possible.
