Call of Combat
A number of years ago, I was a semi-regular player of a 2-D online game called “Chain of Command“, created by 2AM games. This game allowed a player to take control of a squad of four soldiers usingĀ a top-down point-and-click interface. The player could then order each member of their squad to move, shoot, throw grenades, as well as crawl and take cover. The game was set in WW2, and the players would randomly choose a side, either the US or Germany, each game.
I found the game mechanic very solid, and a lot of fun, there didn’t really seem to be anything out there that worked quite like it. With a lot of players online, it was a great way to spend a few hours.
This game inspired my concept project Star Commander.
As it turns out, there is a remake of Chain of Command, called “Call of Combat“. This game features excellent graphics, and the same solid game mechanic that the original Chain of Command Game had. It’s still in Alpha, but I’ve been playing it for some weeks now, and I have noticed very few bugs or crashes.
I think the main thing it needs at this stage is players, so, check it out!
