{"id":9539,"date":"2023-02-05T10:16:00","date_gmt":"2023-02-05T10:16:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/phoenixgamedevelopment.com\/blog\/?p=9539"},"modified":"2023-02-05T10:16:00","modified_gmt":"2023-02-05T10:16:00","slug":"p0-b4-part-1191-debugging-improvements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/phoenixgamedevelopment.com\/blog\/p0-b4-part-1191-debugging-improvements\/","title":{"rendered":"P0-B4: Part 1191: Debugging, Improvements"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I have made some improvements to the random generation algorithm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I can now generate forests and ground cover around all settlements, with a clearing in the center for the settlement itself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously, I could only prevent ground cover from appearing on the entire chunk, which led to an obvious blocky appearance to the forests, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was somewhat complex, but seems to work well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I also made some other minor changes to the random generation system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next step is to try to find a way to connect random settlements together by roads, with collison (preventing trees, etc, from appearing in the way) and with persistence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I also need to work on the artwork for the next random generation module.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have made some improvements to the random generation algorithm.
