I have optimised the executable as much as I can, and the total compressed filesize is now\u00a0about 600 kbs! One of the goals of this project was to experiment with the idea of the &#8220;demoscene&#8221;, to create a very small, compact, but self-contained game. I think I have definitely succeeded in doing this.<\/p>\n<p>The uncompressed file size is 1.44 MB&#8217;s, and that is mainly the freetype dll file. This dll file is 510 KB in size, which makes it the largest single file in the project! The other opengl dll&#8217;s are also quite large, but there is little that can be done about that.<\/p>\n<p>Compressing my .JPG files and reducing the complexity of my art assets helped a lot to reduce file size as well.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This project is almost ready to release.
