The build seemed to go ok, except for one issue I had where the fans would spin up and the motherboard lights would come on, but nothing could be seen on the screen. I eventually figured out that this was caused by one of the standoffs on the board being incorrectly placed. This likely caused a short circuit in the board, preventing POST from completing.<\/p>\n<p>I installed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centos.org\/\">CentOS 7<\/a>, a linux distribution that I have never used before. I chose it because it seems better suited to commercial and server use than most of the other distros.<\/p>\n<p>I chose the &#8220;minimal&#8221; install, and configuration has so far gone well, with the exception of a few DNS problems and yum installation issues.<\/p>\n<p>I am currently working on installing and configuring <a href=\"http:\/\/opennebula.org\/\">OpenNebula<\/a>, a virtual machine manager.
