I have successfully implement a basic concept of gravitational forces with the current FTL system.
Implementing gravity is usually easy, but my current system involves very realistic distances and scales, and so it was more complex than usual. I also had to invert the gravitational vectors, since I am not moving the ship towards the object, I am moving the objects away from the ship.
I have tested this with a black hole, and it seems to work well, but it needs optimising.
I have also made the gravity only work within the current zone, which is a little unrealistic, but it is easier than trying to calculate the forces for many adjoining zones. The main thing is that the concept is more or less proven, and I can build on it when I get more time.
