Raspberry Pi 2

by on Sep.29, 2015, under Miscellany

I have just finished setting up my Raspberry Pi Single Board Computer.

I am actually posting this from the PI itself. Well, technically, from a VNC connection to the PI.

So far, I am finding it amazingly fast, feature rich, and easy to use. It really is a fully fledged computer which could fit into your pocket!

It’s been running all day on a 5V USB battery meant to charge phones and tablets, and the battery is still showing all 4 of it’s power LED’s which means it’s still over 75% charged.

I had it plugged into my TV using the HDMI port, I was configuring settings, playing minecraft, installing programs, all from a small battery without using any noticeable charge!

I intend to try to get a T3D game server on this, eventually if I can. For now, I will just play around with it and get used to it’s programming tools. I will probably use QtCreator, since it’s compatible with the PI (I am using Rasbian) and it is something that I have used before. I also like C/C++ as a language, I don’t like Python very much.
