P0-A2: Part 482: Planet Generation, Normal Maps

I have added additional random textures to the planets, which provides for a great deal more variety.

I have also added Ice planets, and planets totally covered in oceans. There is a huge amount more work that I can do here, when I get more time, but for now I am focusing on the essentials.

I have also experimented with adding normal maps to my terrain. This should provide a lot of additional detail, but even though my shader code seems to work, the normal maps don’t look like they should. I suspect this is because I am generating the normal map from a texture.
