P-172: Unity: Space Environment: Part 15

I have managed to get emissive lighting working in Unity, however, it is not dynamic, I am using “baked” lighting. It does work, and it works well, but in the future, I will need to figure out the “light probe” system and use that to get dynamic lights.
I have been experimenting with emissive lights on various materials, and the effects are quite striking. It does increase the build time of the scene a lot though, since the lights need to be baked every time the geometry changes. I have set the lightmaps to static, not the entire object, but this doesn’t seem to speed up the bake/build times by that much.
I can change the colours of the lights in real time, even though the lights are baked, but I have to change the entire emissive material at the same time. So, if I have several objects sharing an emissive texture, (which I do) they will all update at the same time. If I wanted more control, I could just duplicate emissive textures, this wouldn’t be a problem since they are low-resolution.
